“We just want to move around.”


Thailand is not consistent in its labor law policies, leading to frustrations for migrants from neighboring countries. Recent policy changes have suspended “National Verification,” a system that has been successful in getting migrants to have a more permanent legal status with access to benefits. Many migrants have gone through the complicated process of National Verification, waiting on their passports, only to realize that it won’t be followed through.
